2014 Corvette Stingray an All-Star

There are few things as American as Baseball and Chevrolet, maybe Hot Dogs or Apple Pie, but that is about it. Heck, there’s even a song about it.

Well true to that spirit, Chevrolet recently partnered with Major League Baseball to give the 2014 Ted Williams MLB All-Star Game MVP a choice between the 2014 North American Car of the Year, Corvette Stingray, and the 2014 North American Truck of the Year, Silverado. Mike Trout, who earned the award by going 2-3 with 1 R and 2 RBI, chose the 2014 Corvette Stingray.

To further honor his selection, Chevy announced they would auction off a matching 2014 Corvette Stingray, with a hood that’s been autographed by every single player and coach from both the AL and NL side. The money raised will be given to charity. Chevy wasn’t done there though; they also donated an autographed Stingray hood to MLB and the MLB Players association to benefit their charitable works. Truly making the 2014 Corvette Stingray an All-Star.

“Tonight, we honor the achievements of Mike Trout, the 2014 All-Star Game Most Valuable Player, while we showcase our own MVPs, the Corvette Stingray and Chevrolet Silverado,” Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet Marketing said while awarding the 2014 Corvette Stingray to Trout, according to a Chevy press release. “We hope many of our fellow baseball fans join us to help raise funds for a worthy cause.”
