The 2015 Canyon and Colorado Will Offer Segment-Leading Fuel Economy

The 2015 GMC Canyon and 2015 Chevy Colorado aren’t even on our lot yet, but they are already leading their segments in fuel economy, at least when it comes to V-6 powered midsize pickups.

Speaking to the segment-leading fuel economy of the 2015 Colorado specifically, Tony Johnson, the Colorado marketing manager mentioned how it doesn’t take a lot of expensive technology to make a truck fuel efficient yet fun to drive.

The segment-leading fuel economy is fully on display when comparing the automatic transmission variants of the V-6 2015 Canyon and 2015 Colorado. In these types of midsize trucks the Canyon and Colorado get 3 to 5 mpg better than the closest competition. We specify the V-6 engine option because EPA testing is not yet complete on the other engine options. While we’ll likely see reports on other engine options in the near future, ahead of this fall when we’re finally able to sell them here at Hanner Chevrolet, for now we’ll have to just enjoy the V-6 information.

segment-leading fuel economy

“The all-new 2015 GMC Canyon adds segment-leading fuel economy to its winning resume,” Kenn Bakowski, Canyon marketing manager said in a GM press release. “Innovations such as available active grille shutters combine with an aerodynamic design in a smaller, more maneuverable package to set a new standard for fuel economy in midsize trucks.”

As we said earlier, these trucks won’t be available until later in the fall but stay tuned to the Hanner Chevy Blog for the latest information and be sure to contact us about when you might be able to get behind the wheel of one of these great trucks.
