Chevy Delivers 1 Millionth One World Futbol to Girls’ Primary School

Though the World Cup is sadly behind us, Chevrolet continues to make a difference in communities around the world through its partnership with One World Futbol Project. Together, the two organizations delivered their 1 millionth One World Futbol to a girls’ school in South Africa.

The milestone was celebrated as members from the executive team for Chevy and One World Futbol Project joined Manchester United legend Gary Bailey and Phyllis Moletsane, the founder and former principal of the Mabu-a-tlou Primary School that received both the 1 millionth ball and a newly renovated field.

“One World Futbol Project is about play – when play happens, progress happens,” said the organization’s co-founder, Tim Jahnigen. “When we play, conflicts are momentarily forgotten, collaboration begins, despair is replaced by joy. Play enables hope, opportunity and optimism in the most dire of situations… Through our collaboration with Chevrolet, we are fulfilling our mission to maximize the power of play and transform lives.”

We at Hanner Chevrolet are so proud to be associated in some small way with such a big-hearted project that is truly changing lives all over the world.
