The Corvette Z06 Speed is Unparalleled

The 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 is causing some buzz due to the fact that it is GM’s fastest car ever. The Z06 is being compared to far more expensive supercars. With a 0-60 in less than 3 seconds, we here at Hanner Chevrolet think it belongs in a league of its own.

The 2015 Corvette Z06 has been completely redesigned, inside and out. The exterior has been molded to be more aerodynamic, a new hood and a new grille. A LT4 supercharged 6.2L aluminum V8 engine produces 650 horsepower and 650 lb./ft. of torque. Paired with an 8-speed transmission, it’s practically a lightning bolt.

“The Corvette has long been known as America’s sports car,” said Mark Reuss, a GM executive VP. “With the capability of the new Z06 rivaling the best performance cars in the world, we will also be America’s Supercar.”

The Corvette Z06 speed is unparalleled by cars in its class. The Z06 completed the quarter-mile in 10.95 seconds at 127 MPH. Top speed is pegged at nearly 200 mph. According to Chevy, it has more horsepower than both the McLaren 650S and Lamborghini Huracán, and it’s considerably less expensive.

Here at Hanner Chevrolet we can’t wait for the release of the Z06 in early 2015.
