GM Is Making An Electric Truck

The Newest Electric Truck

Ford and Rivian recently announced plans to produce electric pickup truck models. However, they’re not the only automakers who are exploring greener technology for pickup platforms. GM recently announced that it has an all-electric pickup in the works. GM CEO Mary Barra stated in a recent investor call that the company “intend[s] to create an all-electric future that includes a complete range of EVs — including full-size pickups.”

What We Know So Far

Unfortunately, we don’t know much about the upcoming electric pickup. Barra declined to share more details about the vehicle, stating that GM will disclose more information when it’s “competitively appropriate” to do so. What we do know, however, is that the new electric truck is part of the brand’s larger plan to release 20 new electric vehicles by 2023. The first vehicle GM will release as a part of this new lineup will be based on the Chevy Bolt.

No More Diesel

The future of autos and even gas-guzzling pickup trucks is definitely starting to become more eco-friendly. Speaking of eco-friendly models… Why not stop by Hanner Chevrolet near Abilene, TX to test-drive a new Chevy Bolt EV? It’s a great way to distract yourself from the waiting as we anticipate future electric models from the brand.
