The classic Chevrolet Silverado 1500 full-size pickup is entering its fourth generation in 2019. News of updates to the 2019 Silverado started with announcements about its size — now slightly wider and longer — and its lighter weight.

Chevrolet has released more information about the 2019 Chevrolet SIlverado 1500, including news of its many impressive towing features.

The new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 towing features come bundled as the Advanced Trailering System, which is a standard package on the LTZ and High Country trims and available on LT, RST, and Trail Boss trims. It’s a must-have package for anyone who seeks to use the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 as the workhorse that it is.

The package includes a tire monitoring system that tracks air pressure and temperature of the tires on the trailer. It also adds helpful backing guidelines to the rearview camera, which makes it much easier for drivers to reverse while trailering. This package also provides automatic parking brake assist.

The new Chevrolet SIlverado 1500 comes with Trailer Theft Alert and the option of a Trailer Camera package. The latter adds two cameras to the two side-mirrors for improved visibility when trailering. New SIlverado 1500 trucks will also feature the first trailering label, which is attached to the driver’s side door to provide information like towing capacity and gross vehicle weight rating specific to that exact truck.
