Updates for the New 2020 Silverado 1500

2020 Silverado 1500

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is already a popular truck, thanks to its cargo volume, capabilities and powertrain options. Now, Chevrolet has announced some exciting updates for the new 2020 Silverado 1500.

One such update is the increased availability of the 6.2-liter V8 engine. For the 2020 model year, this impressive powertrain is now available on the Trail Boss and RST models, meaning it’s available on over half of the trims. This engine delivers 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque and comes paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Towing Capacity

If you choose the 6.2-liter V8 on the RST trim, it will give the Silverado 1500 a best-in-class maximum towing capacity of 13,400 pounds when properly equipped.* You can make this engine even more powerful with an available Performance Upgrade Package, which increases the engine output to 435 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque.

Engine Power

Another new option for 2020 is the all-new 3.0-liter Duramax® Turbo-Diesel I6 engine. This option is available on the LT, LTZ, RST and High Country models. Pairing with a 10-speed automatic transmission, the engine reaches 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.

The 2020 Silverado 1500 also now features a variety of innovative technology, including 15 available camera views, available smart trailer technology and the available Adaptive Cruise Control – Camera.

We at Hanner Chevrolet GMC are excited about all the new features on the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. We encourage you to take one of our Chevrolet trucks out for a test drive at our dealership.
